stand and deliver

as always, i haven't got much time- sophie's supposed to be down for a short nap before our next appointment- but i hear her upstairs singing to herself. that being said- it is so much fun to listen to...

i haven't written in ages, because things are moving FAST. after a year of sleepy, coma baby, we've had six months of hyper drive. there is a new milestone every week. the last time i wrote, sophie was just starting to froggy hop. since then, she's started climbing the stairs, crawling properly, and then this. supported standing. such a thrill to be able to take a picture of her standing up. like a big girl. all by herself (with the help of a wall, of course).

so there has been baby proofing and daily therapy and lots and lots of reading (this kid DEVOURS books. you could read the same one to her three times and when she is done with that one, she'll just find another.).

the other thing that happened today was a couple of supported steps. they were hard for her- she needed lots of help holding herself up with my hands on hers- and moving the left foot forward was harder than the right- but it happened. my baby went from standing against the wall to reaching out, grabbing my hands, and stepping forward, gingerly, four times to end with a big mommy hug.

i'm tearing up now, writing this, so i'm going to go gather my singing diva up and get her ready to head out to our final appointment of the day. i hope this brief update leaves you wanting more. next time i will post 2 videos of sophie's new favorite past time- tearing things up. until then... "keep moving forward".
